Driver Hire Darlington is recruiting an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver for a long-term ongoing assignment with a well-established waste management and recycling customer in the Darlington area.This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking driver looking for regular, full-time hours with the potential for a long-term placement.The Role for a Class 2 HGV DriverThe successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery, collection and exchange of skips and RoRo containers throughout the North East, transporting waste and recyclable materials safely and efficiently. Duties may also include operating a grab wagon and removing waste from customer sites for disposal at licensed facilities.Responsibilities include:
- Delivering, collecting and exchanging skips and RoRo containers
- Operating a Class 2 vehicle safely and professionally
- Assistance with grab wagon operations when required
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
- Ensuring loads are secure and compliant with regulations
- Completing all relevant delivery and collection paperwork
- Maintaining high standards of customer service
- Adhering to drivers’ hours, tachograph and health & safety regulations
Requirements for a Class 2 HGV driver
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
- Valid CPC qualification card
- Digital Tachograph card
- Previous skip, RoRo or grab wagon experience preferred
- Good knowledge of routes across the North East
Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday
- Guaranteed 8 hour days
- Competitive hourly pay rates
- Weekly pay through Driver Hire Darlington
