💰 Weekly Pay | 8-Hour Minimum | Immediate Starts🚚 Looking for flexible HGV work?Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) and Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to work with a variety of well-established clients across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.Whether you’re looking to pick up extra shifts, work around existing commitments or build up regular ad-hoc work, we have a range of assignments available to suit your availability.From trunking and general haulage to multi-drop deliveries and palletised distribution, the work can vary depending on the client and assignment.📦 The WorkDepending on your licence and the assignment, duties may include:
- Trunking and depot-to-depot work
- General haulage
- Multi-drop deliveries and collections
- Palletised distribution
- Deliveries to commercial, industrial and customer sites
- Loading and unloading goods where required
- Working independently or alongside a Driver’s Mate
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
- Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely
- Completing delivery paperwork
- Following road transport legislation and health & safety procedures
- Providing professional customer service
With a variety of clients and assignments available, no two shifts are necessarily the same!🕒 Shifts & Hours
- Flexible ad-hoc shifts
- Days, backs and nights available
- Monday to Friday work
- Typical start times between 6:00am and 11:00am for day work, depending on the assignment
- Typical shift lengths of 8-12 hours
- Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
- Additional work available during busy periods and holiday cover
- Opportunities for regular ongoing work
💷 Pay Rates🚛 Class 1 (C+E)PAYE
- £15.50 per hour
- £20.66 per hour after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
- £17.37 per hour
- £23.15 per hour after 8 hours
🚚 Class 2 (Category C)PAYE
- £14.50 per hour
- £19.32 per hour after 8 hours
PAYE Advanced
- £16.25 per hour
- £21.66 per hour after 8 hours
💰 Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift✅ What We’re Looking For
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous HGV driving experience
- Maximum 9 penalty points
- No DD, DR, CD or IN endorsements
- Comfortable with manual handling where required
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Safety-conscious attitude
- Good communication skills
- Flexible and willing to work different assignments
